Shroomy Community Guidelines

tl;dr

Shroomy is an app that is meant to foster not only best practices for fungi & mushroom cultivation, but also allows community members to connect with each other. We expect that all Shroomy users are helping us foster a positive community that abides by all local and federal regulations and guidelines. The expectation is that mutual respect should be the rule when using Shroomy: respect others, respect the law, and respect all of our terms of service and community guidelines.

Overview

Shroomy is the culmination of decades of mushroom cultivation best practices. We respect the legacy of mushroom growing practitioners, and have worked to ensure that we're crafting guidelines that do not only respect the law, but also respect the intrinsic nature and legacy of the mushroom cultivation community. Meaning: mushroom cultivators respect other people getting into the cultivation practice. Core to the mushroom cultivation community is the idea of “sharing:” sharing best practices, sharing insights/stories, sharing cultivation genetics, and more. With Shroomy, we are striving to foster a community that extends these cultural norms using technology. In order to carry this community responsibility, we have developed these guidelines and we expect our users to abide by them.

Following the law

1. General legal overview: Shroomy is a platform for legal mushroom cultivation only. You are responsible for knowing and following whatever laws apply to you. Ensure that you are referring to Shroomy's Terms of Service to better understand our stance on the legal aspects of recording your mushroom grows inside of our application.
2. Illegal activities: For the safety of the Shroomy community, we require users to respect all applicable local, national, and international laws while using our services. Any content or activity featuring, encouraging, offering, or soliciting illegal activity is prohibited. Shroomy is not a platform for buying or selling anything between private individuals. We have a no tolerance rule for posting or sharing sexual content involving minors, organized crime, or terrorism.

Authenticity & sharing

1. Posting and sharing your own content: Share only photos and videos that you've taken or have the right to share. Remember our general community guidelines above and remember the spirit of our guidelines, and in this case, remember to post your authentic content and not content that you've copied or collected from the Internet that you don't have the rights to.
2. Impersonation: Impersonation is a malicious practice that compromises the trust in our services and can harm the target of impersonation. Content or activity meant to impersonate an individual or organization is prohibited.
3. Spam & other malicious conduct: Spam and other deceptive practices create a negative user experience, decrease trust in our services, and mislead other users. Any content or activity that disrupts, interrupts, harms, or otherwise violates the integration of Shroomy's services or another user's experience or devices is prohibited.

Hateful conduct

1. General overview of our policy regarding hateful content: As noted, one of Shroomy's core mission is to foster a community of mushroom cultivation enthusiasts that have a safe space for shared community experiences, Shroomy does not tolerate harmful rhetoric and abuse. Shroomy prohibits behavior that attacks or harrasess other people based on race, ethnicity, age, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, caste, sex, gender identity, serious disease, disability, body type, or immigration status. We will terminate the account of anyone who is in violation of this guideline.

2. Harassment & respect: Harassment deters from Shroomy's community goals, and then prevents people from feeling safe on Shroomy. In general, respect each other. Treat everyone you interact with on Shroomy with empathy and respect. Shroomy wants to foster a positive, diverse community. We will remove content that contains credible threats, hate speech, or content that targets private individuals.
